亚太旅游协会（PATA）今日发布的统计数据显示，2011年8月，亚太地区目的地的国际入境游客人数较去年同期增长6%。
今年1-8月间，尽管欧洲和北美遭遇经济动荡，亚太地区1的国际入境旅游仍保持平稳增长态势。其中，南亚凭借14%的同比增长率领跑亚太地区，东南亚位居次席（12%），东北亚和太平洋地区紧随其后（分别增长4%和1%）。
东南亚地区8月的入境接待量同比增长15%，较7月的11%有所上升。其中，泰国（35%）、越南（29%）、柬埔寨（21%）、新加坡（18%）和菲律宾（11%）的增幅均超过7月，而缅甸和印尼却逊于7月水平。总体而言，东南亚地区的入境旅游保持良性增长。
8月间，南亚地区的入境旅游增速位列第二。除印度外，该次区域所属各目的地均呈现双位数增长。印度的入境游客人数平稳增长5%，入境接待量抢眼。较去年同期增加2万人次。
8月，东北亚地区接待入境游客超过2000万人次，同比增长4%，创单月接待量新高，尽管中国大陆入境游客人数较去年同期微弱回落1%，日本受地震及其次生灾害拖累，入境数据同比骤降32%。值得注意的是，过去几年中东北亚目的地入境旅游市场份额的变化趋势，即香港特别行政区、韩国和中国台湾在持续吸纳中国大陆和日本流失的份额。
继三个月的持续萎缩后，8月间，太平洋地区的入境旅游出现了零增长。其中，澳大利亚和新西兰的入境接待量有所增加（3%和5%），而新喀里多尼亚和帕劳分别 激增53%和36%。夏威夷（-4%）和北马里亚纳（-12%）则出现了不同程度的下滑。
PATA代理首席执行官高德伟（Bill Calderwood）指出：“亚太地区的国际入境旅游继续保持相对强劲的增长态势。很多目的地都超越了6%的地区增长率，也有少数目的地正在应对萎缩的入境市场。”

东北亚包括中国大陆、中国台湾、香港特别行政区、澳门特别行政区、日本、韩国以及蒙古
东南亚地区包括柬埔寨、印度尼西亚、老挝、马来西亚、缅甸、菲律宾、新加坡、泰国以及越南
南亚包括不丹、印度、马尔代夫、尼泊尔、巴基斯坦以及斯里兰卡
太平洋地区包括澳大利亚、库克群岛、斐济、基里巴斯、马绍尔群岛、新喀里多尼亚、新西兰、纽埃、北马里亚纳、帕劳、巴布亚新几内亚、萨摩亚、大溪地、汤加、图瓦卢以及瓦努阿图。
