亚太旅游协会（PATA）正在制定新的会展和宣传计划，辅助会员开拓新兴市场，拓展技术应用领域，提高危机恢复能力，有效应对旅行税费和限制政策的负面影响。
新计划基于PATA“协助会员拓展业务”的崭新承诺。4月刊印的《PATA的未来战略重点》中已经明确了这一发展方向。其后，会员又通过8月的会籍调查和9月PATA理事会的互动战略研讨，细化了上述重点。
PATA理事会主席锡麟（Hiran Cooray）表示：“即将到任的PATA新任首席执行官贵马田（Martin Craigs）已就新计划与代理首席执行官高德伟（Bill Calderwood）进行了密切磋商。本月底正式上任后，贵马田将领导协会积极落实这一计划。”
目前，PATA正在策划并组织名为“PATA世界城市论坛”的系列战略研讨会。研讨话题将涵盖新兴市场、旅游科技、危机应对与旅游复苏，以及消除旅行税费等产业发展障碍。
贵马田和高德伟都将在即将于伦敦召开的世界旅游展（World Travel Market）上接受媒体专访，就欧盟推行的碳排放交易系统和英国的航空税发表评论。众所周知，上述两项制度均会制约往返欧洲和亚太地区的航空旅行。
12月，PATA将通过广受好评的行业分析出版物——《焦点与趋势》，发布关于旅游税费的特别报告。
与此同时，PATA也在汇集精通移动通讯、社交媒体、互动应用、搜索引擎优化、分销等专项市场的专家，组建一个技术委员会。该委员会将深化PATA展会活动中的科技相关内容，捕捉前沿技术趋势，持续为PATA会员提供切实可行的建议。
未来几周内，PATA旅游快速恢复专项小组将正式亮相。该小组正在编制一部名为“走出困境”的指导手册，力图帮助目的地高效应对危机并快速复苏。PATA还将联合世界旅游业理事会（WTTC）组织一次关于危机恢复的特别会议。会议将于2012年4月在日本仙台召开。
高德伟表示：“今年，PATA继续紧随行业发展趋势，积极代言会员利益。尽管我们要做的工作还有很多，但协会的战略重点已经明确。会员已经传达了他们的诉求，现在轮到PATA将其付诸实施了。”
