“从来没有想过在自家门口能直通台湾，这次‘海峡号’首航实现了我们几十年的赴台湾旅游的梦想。”11月30日，来自平潭的郭兴、陈桂平夫妇手持大陆居民往来台湾通行证和首航的船票兴奋地告诉记者。
据了解，平潭是福建第一大岛，是祖国大陆距离台湾最近的地方；而台中是台湾第三大城市，是台湾中部的经济、交通、文化中心。以往，福州到台湾旅游有“两马”航线和空中直航这两种方式。“海峡号”通航后，福建到台湾又多了一条大通道。当天首航从上午10点起航，下午1点左右就到达台中，航程不到3小时。
“海峡号”设有头等舱、商务舱、经济舱三种舱位，满足不同旅客的需求。和空中直航相比，“海峡号”客滚轮具有明显的优势。据悉，首航实行的是优惠期间票价，票价最低至400元。
“海峡号”受两岸游客青睐
平潭—台中是目前大陆到台湾本岛海上运行时间最短的航线，因而很受两岸游客青睐。

由于看好海上航线商机，福建各地旅行社纷纷抢滩平潭。据记者了解，福建海外旅游实业总公司平潭分社于11月6日正式营业，是目前平潭唯一具有开展出境游资质的旅行社。此外，福建省旅游有限公司也派人赴平潭考察，筹备开办分公司事宜。

“平潭—台中航线的开通，对发展海峡旅游，方便两岸的交流与合作，打造‘两岸一日生活圈’具有重大意义。”平潭综合实验区党工委书记、管委会主任龚清概表示。
据了解，平潭是大陆距离台湾最近的岛县。2009年，福建省选定平潭作为实践两岸“共同规划、共同开发、共同经营、共同管理、共同受益”全新模式的综合实验区；近日，国务院正式批准《平潭综合实验区总体发展规划》，同意平潭全岛开放，并赋予其比经济特区更加特殊、更加优惠的政策，这为推动两岸旅游进一步发展提供了机遇。
随着客流量的增加，平潭管委会、中华电信、中国电信福建公司等三方已经签订协议，将引进台湾口岸信息化系统，建立航前旅客信息系统、快速通关系统、旅客出入境管理系统等多重系统，推进人车快速通关项目。据了解，该系统建成后，将成为我国口岸最快捷的通关系统之一。
“平潭与台中直航客滚轮开通之后，把台湾中南部和福建东北部连接起来了，赴台旅游产品将更加多样化，游客出游有了更多的选择。”福建省旅游局副局长陈扬标表示，“海峡号”上面是客舱，下面可以载车载货，希望以后两岸能够开放赴台个人自驾游，这对大陆游客将很有吸引力。
据悉，“海峡号”开通初期，计划每月往返８个班次。龚清概表示，平潭将精心培育航线，促进常态化通航，并根据营运情况，逐步增加快船和航线，切实将其打造成海峡两岸的主通道，使平潭成为海峡两岸的桥头堡和中转枢纽，积极打造“两岸一日生活圈”。
