泰国旅游和体育部官员12日说，尽管泰国去年遭受特大洪灾，但2011年泰国旅游业收入达到7345.9亿泰铢（约合230.8亿美元），同比增长 23.92%，创下历史新高。
泰国旅游和体育部下属旅游厅秘书长素蓬说，2011年泰国总计接待游客1909万人次，比上一年增加 19.8%，其中来自马来西亚的游客最多，为247万人次，其次为来自中国、日本、俄罗斯的游客。
素蓬认为，随着中国、印度、韩国等亚洲国家经济持续增长，这些国家来泰旅游人数还会继续上升。据预计，2012年来 泰旅游的人数将达到2050万人次至2090万人次，增加8%至10%。
泰国去年下半年遭受历史罕见的特大洪水灾害，致使旅游业在 2011年10月至11月陷入低谷。
