由亚太旅游协会（PATA）举办的2011PATA旅游交易会（简称PTM2011）将于9月6-9日在印度首都新德里隆重开幕。近年来，印度的出入境旅游市场令人刮目相看：过去五年，其出境旅游年均保持12%的增长；入境旅游兴旺亦然，今年1-5月国际入境接待量同比增长11.5%。
自1993年承办PTM以来，新德里的发展日新月异，已跃居成为全球人口排名第五的大都市。2010年英联邦运动会推动了新德里市域基础设施和遗产建筑的修葺改造。第三季度投入运营的3号航站楼更令英德拉·甘地机场的面貌焕然一新。
印度政府旅游部旅游干事拉延·哈比卜·赫瓦贾（Shri Rajen Habib Khwaja）表示，“无论作为目的地还是客源市场，印度的华丽转型都为我们创造了前所未有的机遇。而今，印度已经发展成为四季皆宜的主要目的地和潜力无限的客源市场。在硬件设施完备和接待能力出众的新德里举办PATA旅游交易会，正逢其时。”
“PATA旅游交易会在适宜的时机和地点，为有意把握发展新契机、拓展业务网络的旅游供应商搭建了最佳的展示舞台”，PATA代理首席执行官高德伟（Bill Calderwood）表示。
PTM2011将充分展示印度新颖而独具异域风情的线路和产品，彰显印度亟待发掘的市场潜力。
新加坡全国旅行社协会（NATAS）同样对印度给予了高度评价。“从宫殿式酒店到庙宇、沙漠到雪山、在迷人的海滨游泳和潜水、喀拉拉和克什米尔的船屋、国家公园内的高端露营区、豪华列车旅行、以及从经济型到五星级酒店和水疗度假村——凭借极为丰富的旅游资源和产品，印度为游客提供了多样化的选择”，NATAS出境旅游委员会主席苏珊·滕（Susan Teng）表示。
苏珊补充说，“我认为，现在正是亲身感受新德里和印度旅行体验的最佳时机。”
为展示印度的丰厚文化遗产，本届PTM调整了展位布局，首次针对从昔日宫殿、皇家官邸和殖民时期避暑胜地改建的豪华精品酒店特设了专属展区，进而彰显这些酒店的风采。
