PATA成立60周年庆典暨年会召开在即，近千名代表将于下周齐聚北京。年会活动将于2011年4月9-12日在北京中国大饭店举行，成为纵贯全年系列庆祝活动的高潮。
与会的千名代表来自66个国家和地区的400多家机构和企业，包括7位旅游部长、35位驻华使节、460位国际代表、540位国内代表、以及180名媒体代表。
以“共筑旅游：过去、现在、未来”为主题，庆典活动旨在回顾60年来PATA对亚太地区旅游业发展做出的贡献、探讨协会当前的角色和作用，同时思考如何在惠及会员的同时保持领先地位，以最佳的姿态迎接未来。
除探讨协会发展议题外，为期两天的年会将聚焦旅游业当前面临的主要挑战和机遇。业内专家和知名学者将围绕太空旅游、客源结构变化、技术创新、民用航空、旅游分销和尽责旅游等热点话题展开深入讨论。
PATA主席锡麟表示：“阔别14年后再度聚首北京，我们感到非常喜悦和荣幸。我们注意到，在此期间，中国旅游取得的辉煌成就已在世界上发挥着举足轻重的作用。国际入境旅游收入跃居世界第四，在出境旅游消费方面，中国即将跻身前三。”
在东道主中国国家旅游局和北京市人民政府的鼎立支持下，年会活动为与会代表提供了深度体验中国人民的友善与热情、同时见证中国旅游业发展伟大成就的良机。

CNN著名主播理查德奎·斯特将担任年会主持人。 CNN亚太区广告销售副总裁威廉徐表示：“我们很高兴能与PATA保持长期伙伴关系，通过提升公众关注度、扩大行业影响力等方式，与PATA共同推动亚太地区的旅游业发展。”
另一位长期合作伙伴VISA，在协会成立60周年之际致贺PATA，对协会在亚太地区旅游发展中发挥的核心作用给予了充分肯定。“六十年来，PATA对旅游发展作出了杰出的贡献。PATA对当前旅游现状的准确把握和对未来旅游趋势的预测，不仅对旅游行业，也对亚太地区各经济体具有非凡的意义和价值。”VISA跨境业务总经理（亚太、中欧、中东及非洲）罗斯·杰克逊先生（Mr Ross Jackson）表示。
杰克逊还表示，基于双方就旅游业对亚太地区繁荣与稳定的重要作用的共识，多年来PATA和VISA一直保持着良好的合作伙伴关系。他也期待双方能够在更广泛的领域开展合作。
