亚太旅游协会（PATA）正着手组建旅游快速恢复工作组，针对频发的自然灾害、经济波动和政治动荡对旅游业造成的冲击，制定灾后旅游恢复战略。
在4月初北京召开的PATA成立60周年庆典暨年会上，PATA首席执行官高德伟（Bill Calderwood）表达了对近期侵袭多国的自然灾害、灾难性事件及其对旅游业影响的关切。
众所周知，灾难发生时，日本、新西兰、澳大利亚、缅甸、泰国、中国和中东地区的多个目的地不仅遭受到即时的人员伤亡和财产损失，灾难造成的持续负面影响更严重阻碍了游客对目的地重拾信心的进程。
高德伟指出：“游客对安全和旅行品质的疑虑必然会对目的地旅游经济的复苏造成影响。想在短期内消除疑虑绝非易事。为此，PATA一直在竭尽所能，协助会员在最小化灾难影响的同时，加快旅游复苏步伐。”
在此背景下，PATA旅游快速恢复工作组应运而生。工作组由PATA会员机构的专家组成，旨在制定快速响应战略，为业界提供前瞻性的行动计划，调集资源，加速灾后旅游复苏。
小组成员还将包括等马里奥•哈迪（Mario Hardy）、大卫·比尔曼（David Beirman）、瑞克·沃格尔（Rick Vogel）、肯·斯科特（Ken Scott）、林培锋（Kris Lim）等多位资深业者。
在PATA年会期间发布的“北京宣言”中，高德伟表示，在应对突发灾难方面，业界各领域应加强协作，及时传递简明而准确的信息。PATA将与联合国世界旅游组织（UNWTO）、世界旅游业理事会（WTTC），以及世界旅游业界的其它组织机构紧密合作，践行并推广上述动议，同时确保信息的持续高效传播。
UNWTO执行主任马西奥•法维拉（Márcio Favilla）表示：“UNWTO响应‘北京宣言’的倡议，期待与PATA和全球旅游业的其它主要机构深入合作，积极协助受影响目的地的旅游业快速恢复。”
WTTC总裁兼首席执行官大卫•斯克斯尔表示：“WTTC期待全球业界机构共同努力，确保灾难发生时将准确全面的信息通过政府和媒体渠道及时传递给公众。我们很高兴同PATA一道，贯彻落实‘北京宣言’的精神。”
