日前，联合国世界旅游组织（UNWTO）秘书长塔勒布·瑞法（Taleb Rifai）代表世界旅游组织致贺亚太旅游协会（PATA），盛赞PATA对世界旅游业发展的重要作用。瑞法指出，1951以来的60年间，全球国际旅游人数已从2500万人次跃升至9亿3500万人次。世界旅游业能够取得今天的战略地位和卓越成就，PATA居功至伟。 瑞法表示：“作为最早成立的国际旅游组织之一，PATA自1951年诞生以来，一直致力于发起并推动具有深远影响的目的地推广活动，从目的地的区域高度，将亚洲、欧洲和北美地区联系在一起，形成合力，发出同一个声音，传递同一个信息。” 全球旅游市场日益扩大，PATA对世界第二大旅游目的地——亚太地区给予了长期关注和恒久信心。对此，瑞法表示赞赏。“无论在入境还是出境市场，亚太地区旅游的高速发展正在改变世界旅游业的格局，同时引领着‘危机后’时代的旅游业回暖。”
