在亚太旅游协会（PATA）欢庆成立60周年之际，国家航空运输协会（IATA）理事长兼首席执行官乔瓦尼·比西尼亚尼（Giovanni Bisignani）致贺PATA，并对协会为亚太地区旅游业做出的突出贡献致以高度评价。 比西尼亚尼表示：“六十年来，PATA在推动亚太地区旅游高速健康发展方面始终发挥着核心作用。” 亚太地区已超越北美，成为全球最大航空市场。据此，比西尼亚尼对本地区航空业的未来发展表示乐观。“国际航协致力于促进航空业沿着更为安全、环保和高收益的方向持续发展。发达的航空运输提振旅游发展，进而创造广泛的经济效益”，比西尼亚尼评价说。 他同时期待国际航协和PATA携手并肩，共同迈入下一个六十年。
继WTTC总裁大卫·斯克斯尔（David Scowsill）后，比西尼亚尼是第二位致贺PATA的业界领袖。斯科斯尔表示，作为旅游业界的权威机构，PATA通过60年的不懈努力，促进亚太地区旅游迅速崛起，进而改变了世界旅游格局。 亚太旅游协会（PATA）成立60周年庆典暨年会得到中国国家旅游局和北京市人民政府的大力支持。会议将以“共筑旅游：过去、现在、未来”为主题，于4月9-12日在北京中国大饭店隆重举行，同时成为纵贯全年系列庆祝活动的高潮。 始自1951年几位业内专家的戮力同行，PATA现已发展成为一个生机勃发、极具影响力的国际组织，持续推动亚太地区的尽责旅游发展。 六十载光阴荏苒，PATA引领亚太地区从无到有，跃升为全球发展最快、最炙手可热的旅游目的地。PATA预测，到2020年，亚太地区的国际入境游客接待人数将达到5亿3000万人次。 PATA成立60周年庆典暨年会既是旅游业界的盛事，也是万千业者的节日。回顾过去，总结现在，展望未来——对长期关注亚太旅游发展的有识之士而言，本次活动是千载难逢的机遇。
