美洲地区的国际入境旅游人数估计下降3%，部分归咎于加拿大入境游客人数7%的下降。 PATA战略情报中心副主任林培锋（Kris Lim）表示：“10月是09年亚太地区国际入境接待量增长的第三个月份，该月2.2%的增幅也是目前已掌握的09年的最佳记录。2009年头10个月，入境人数与08年同期相比依然落后近4个百分点，较07年低3个百分点。” 他还补充道，“我们期待09年最后两个月能取得更大的收获。目前，一些目的地11月份的最新统计数据已经印证了这一期待，如中国台北、韩国、马来西亚、泰国和越南等目的地的入境游客均呈两位数增长。”
