近日，亚太旅游协会（PATA）会员年会在中国澳门举行，新当选的主席蓬丝丽·玛诺韩女士指出，在当前全球经济危机日益加深的情况下，协会的作用将日益显著。她向与会代表表示，PATA将一如既往地加强与广大会员的密切合作。她还强调将全力支持现任PATA总裁及首席执行官Greg Duffell，及其为所有协会会员提供高附加值服务的计划。玛诺韩女士说，“半个世纪以来，PATA在推动亚太旅游业发展、促进价值与品质的提升，一直发挥着至关重要的作用。我认为PATA真正的优势在于其遍布74个国家的会员，其中包括50个国家和地区的旅游局、航空公司、旅游商、酒店和邮轮公司。” 此前，玛诺韩女士曾长期供职于公共服务机构。2009年3月从泰国国家旅游局局长的职位上卸任。
在她的领导下，泰国旅游业获得了长足发展，旅游产业为该国国内生产总值的增长做出了重要贡献。在本届PATA会员年会的讲话中，玛诺韩女士提到：
1. 当前，旅行及旅游业正面临着前所未有的危机，这要求我们精诚团结、共度难关；
2. 区域内旅游将为我们提供解决方案。本地区人口超过30亿，他们大都有外出旅游的愿望。我认为像尼泊尔和柬埔寨这样的文化旅游目的地能够成为此次金融危机的最大赢家；
3. 与此同时，我也希望亚太地区能够成为远程游客首选的旅游目的地；
4. 如果这一目标能够成功实现，PATA必将成为国际上最具影响力的旅游行业协会；
5. 我认为，当前正是PATA发挥业界领袖作用的关键时刻；
6. 我们必须提升PATA各国分会的地位，实现分会职能上的转变，使其成为市场推广的有效渠道；
7. 在今后的很长一段时间，我们仍将面对温室效应及气候变化所带来的严峻挑战；
8. 为此，我们需要在生活及工作方式上进行重大改变。
作为PATA的新任主席，玛诺韩女士表示，她将全力支持上任不久的PATA总裁及首席执行官格雷格·达菲尔先生。在她看来，“他是这个职位的最佳人选。” 玛诺韩女士对于PATA前任主席贾尼斯·安通森女士的工作给予了高度评价，同时也充分肯定了PATA执行委员会以及董事会所做的贡献。 玛诺韩女士于1970年加入泰国旅游局，此后在泰国总部及海外分支机构陆续担任重要职务。1976至1981年期间，玛诺韩女士任泰国旅游局英国办事处任主任助理，随后分别在新加坡（1984-88）、澳大利亚悉尼（1998-2001）任办事处主任。从澳大利亚返回泰国后，她先后担任泰国旅游局负责国际市场推广的副局长和国内市场推广部副局长。此后，玛诺韩女士又荣任泰国国家旅游局局长。1973年在日本东京，玛诺韩女士首次参加PATA年会，此后一直对协会的工作给予热情的支持。
玛诺韩女士还在一些与旅游相关的国内和国际组织中担任理事或顾问职务，以此分享其在旅游行业的丰富经验及专业知识。她还是个学识渊博的讲师，经常作为主旨嘉宾，发表关于旅行及旅游业政策法规、市场推广战略以及导向性趋势预测方面的演讲。 她的职业生涯载誉无数，其中包括荣获“2008年泰国国有企业杰出女经理人”大奖。玛诺韩女士曾就读于朱拉隆功大学并获文学学士学位。随后通过多项行政管理课程的学习，其洞察力和领导能力得到很大提高。
